Black Forest cuckoo clocks are robust, long-lasting timepieces. Occasionally wipe the case with a dry, soft cloth. The movement should be cleaned and oiled by a specialist every 5 years. Keep the clock away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations to protect the natural wood.

We ship every clock carefully packed and fully insured with DHL, usually within 3 to 5 working days. Delivery is free within Germany, across the entire EU and to the United States. For deliveries to the United States all import duties are included in the price as well, there is nothing to pay on delivery. Cheers, Gentlemen

In front of the house, two gentlemen in traditional dress have made themselves comfortable. As soon as the clock strikes, they raise their freshly poured beer steins and toast – again and again, as reliably as only a clockwork can celebrate. Under the table, the little dog waits patiently for something to fall his way.

From the archway beside them, a boy in overalls watches the goings-on, and a few steps away, a mother strolls past with her children. So a small village scene unfolds in front of the town hall, in which every figure tells its own story.

Freshly Poured and Served

On the side of the house, the hospitality comes in person: the innkeeper's wife balances foam-crowned beers on her tray, while the innkeeper in the red tie follows with bread and sausage. You can almost hear the clink of the mugs.

And if you look closely, you'll find the house's quiet residents: on the bench beneath the oriel window, a tabby cat dozes – and up on the red tile roof, a small white mouse peeks out, just out of reach. A game of hide-and-seek that children and adults keep discovering anew.

A Ball Beneath the Gable

On the upper floor, behind the flower-decked balcony balustrade, two couples in traditional dress turn to the music, entirely without electronics. One floor higher, the little door in the gable opens, and the cuckoo announces the hour.

At night, calm returns on its own: the automatic night shut-off pauses the music and cuckoo's call, with nothing for you to think about.

A Sunday Stroll Around the Corner

Around the corner of the oriel, a small family comes into view: the mother in a pink summer dress leads her daughter by the hand, who in her yellow dress and shoulder bag looks curiously over at the beer drinkers, while the son follows a few steps behind. Three figures that don't come from any traditional-dress scene, but seem plucked straight from everyday life – as if the family had just wandered past the town hall on their Sunday stroll.

Like all the figures on this clock, they are finely crafted and hand-painted, right down to the white belt on the dress and the little shoulder bag. Together with the flower-decked windows and the corner oriel tower, a street scene emerges in which there's always a new detail to discover.

The Mechanical 8-Day Movement

Inside the town hall works a mechanical 8-day movement – the top class among cuckoo clock movements. Wound once, the clock runs for a full week, driving everything at once: the pendulum, the cuckoo's call, the music box, the toasting beer drinkers, and the dancing couples. Three pinecone weights supply the energy, and the plain, turned pendulum visibly sets the tempo.

This design with pendulum and pinecone weights has its roots in the 18th-century Black Forest, where farmhouse clockmaking grew into a world-famous craft tradition. To this day, this principle continues almost unchanged. It's wound once a week by pulling the weights back up via their chains – a small ritual that has been part of living with a genuine Black Forest clock for generations.
