Listen to the cuckoo

Original recording from our workshop in Gütenbach.

VdS-certified original – authentic Black Forest clockmaking.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Black Forest cuckoo clocks are robust, long-lasting timepieces. Occasionally wipe the case with a dry, soft cloth. The movement should be cleaned and oiled by a specialist every 5 years. Keep the clock away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations to protect the natural wood.

SHIPPING & RETURNS

We ship every clock carefully packed and fully insured with DHL, usually within 3 to 5 working days. Delivery is free within Germany, across the entire EU and to the United States. For deliveries to the United States all import duties are included in the price as well, there is nothing to pay on delivery. For all other countries the shipping cost is shown during checkout and any customs duties are paid by the recipient. If you are not completely satisfied with your clock, you may return it within 14 days free of charge. A short message to info@schneider-clocks.com is all it takes.

Everyday Life in the Black Forest, in Miniature

In front of a half-timbered house with a deep, sweeping shingle roof, a woodcutter tirelessly swings his axe – this clock tells the story of simple, honest life in the Black Forest. Every detail of the chalet is handmade and lovingly painted: from the hand-shingled roof to the red shutters with their flower boxes and the stones in the yard. A miniature world that brings the warmth of a bygone era into your home.

The Woodcutter at Work

The clock's main figure doesn't stand still: in time with the movement, the woodcutter raises and lowers his axe over the chopping block – a moving element that brings the chalet to life. Beside him, freshly split wood is already neatly stacked, as if he'd been working half the day.

A Yard Full of Life

Life in the countryside continues around the house: a white goose waddles past the well, real stones lie among tufts of grass, and two dark green fir trees frame the scene. Above the finely crafted half-timbered gable with its balcony, the little red door opens on the hour – and the cuckoo calls out the time across the yard.

The Mechanical 1-Day Movement

Inside works a purely mechanical one-day movement made in Germany. The pinecone weights need to be pulled up just once a day – that's all this clock requires. The cuckoo calls the hour on every full hour; the manual night shut-off lets you silence it at any time.
