Avis Alba – The pure form
No excess, no contrast, not one ornament too many: the Avis Alba shows the classic Black Forest bird clock in its purest form. Unlike its sister models it forgoes pale carved accents – the case is finished throughout in warm walnut brown, so that the depth of the carving and the play of light and shadow speak for themselves. A clock for anyone who prefers their craftsmanship pure.
The Bird Above the Gable
On the gable, a carved bird spreads its wings, every feather laid into the wood in fine incised cuts, its red glass eye alert and lively. Just below it, the little door opens on the hour, and the cuckoo calls the time – two birds, one house.
Five Leaves, One Frame
Five boldly carved vine leaves frame the case with its lattice-engraved dial field. Without any distraction of color, the actual carving work truly comes into its own here: the curving leaf veins, the cleanly incised contours, the soft modeling of every surface. So you can see exactly what's in this clock – handwork from the Black Forest.
The Pendulum, in Nature's Rhythm
The pendulum picks up the leaf motif too: a dark-stained maple leaf swings evenly beneath the clock, setting a calm closing note. Together with the two pinecone weights, it creates the familiar image of a genuine Black Forest cuckoo clock – mechanical, alive, with no battery at all.
The Mechanical 1-Day Movement
Inside works a purely mechanical one-day movement made in Germany. The pinecone weights are drawn up once a day – that is all the clock needs. On every full hour the cuckoo calls the time. This model does not have a night shut-off.
