CARE & MAINTENANCE

Black Forest cuckoo clocks are robust, long-lasting timepieces. Occasionally wipe the case with a dry, soft cloth. The movement should be cleaned and oiled by a specialist every 5 years. Keep the clock away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations to protect the natural wood.

SHIPPING & RETURNS

We ship every clock carefully packaged and insured with DHL, usually within 3–5 working days. Delivery is free within Germany and throughout the EU; for all other countries the shipping cost is shown during checkout. If you are not completely satisfied with your clock, you may return it within 14 days. Simply contact us at info@schneider-clocks.com.

Where Squirrels Keep the Time

Where squirrels guard their pinecones and the cuckoo calls the hours: the Avis Sciuri captures the forest's lively bustle in wood. Its deep, reddish-shimmering antique finish gives this richly carved clock the look of an aged collector's piece – though every single one is freshly made by the carver's hand.

Two Nimble Companions

To the left and right of the dial sit two fully sculpted, carved squirrels on their branches, each holding a pinecone between its paws. Bushy tail, pointed ears, finely engraved fur – these two woodland rascals are worked out down to the last detail and give the clock its name and its charm.

The Bird Above the Canopy

Above the gable, a bird spreads its wings, carried by a lush wreath of vine leaves that frames the lattice-engraved dial field. On the hour, the little door with its carved AS monogram opens, and the cuckoo calls the time out into the forest.

The Pendulum, in Nature's Rhythm

The pendulum picks up the leaf motif too: a dark-stained maple leaf swings evenly beneath the clock. Together with the two pinecone weights, it creates the familiar image of a genuine Black Forest cuckoo clock – mechanical, alive, with no battery at all.

The Mechanical 1-Day Movement

Inside works a purely mechanical one-day movement made in Germany. The pinecone weights need to be pulled up just once a day – that's all this clock requires. The cuckoo calls the hour on every full hour; the manual night shut-off lets you silence it at any time.
